J&D's Foods is showing its support for the Movember campaign with the launch of an unusual product.
The US food company has released a bacon-flavoured moustache wax which brings together two of what it calls the "most powerful forces in the universe" - cured meat and moustaches. The launch of the wax is designed to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer as well as mental health problems with all proceeds going to the Movember Foundation.
Movember was first launched in Australia in 2003 and challenges men to grow moustaches throughout the month of November. The campaign has been hugely popular and has since expanded to 21 countries across the globe. J&D's Foods is just one of a host of companies that are getting involved in the campaign.
Heinz is also lending its support to Movember by launching specially branded bottles of HP Sauce in a bid to raise money for the charity, building on a partnership between the two organisations.
The bacon-flavoured moustache wax has been made from beeswax and petroleum jelly and is available to purchase from the company's website for £8 per tin. For each tin sold 63p will be donated to the Movember Foundation.
J&D's Foods said: "Moustaches are a mark of power, distinction and class. They make the wearer more attractive and increase cognitive ability when stroked. People with moustaches are generally very successful in their chosen fields and held in high regard."
It is not the first time that the company has embraced bacon to launch a range of innovative, albeit strange, cured meat themed products. Last year, J&D's Foods was pushed into the public eye when it released a line of bacon-flavoured condoms. It came with the tagline of "make your meat, look like meat".
The condoms when alongside the firm's Bacon Salt, Bacon Soda, Bacon Coffins and Baconlube.
