Ready meal company Charlie Bigham's has enjoyed a hugely successful year boasting a sizeable sales growth.
The firm reported a 46 per cent year-on-year sales growth this week on top of retail sales of £26 million. In the past 12 months it has established partnerships with the likes of Waitrose, Budgens and Ocado transforming it into one of the fastest growing brands in the UK and it has no intention of slowing down.
FoodManufacture.co.uk reports that founder and namesake Charlie Bigham has big plans for the ready meal company in the future. He explained that the firm is ready to invest £750,000 over the coming year to help maintain its current strong position. This follows on from the £2.5 million the company announced early in the year and the doubling in marketing to £3 million.
Mr Bigham told the news provider that he is confident about the firm's future but was aware that it needs to adapt to market changes: "I'm an optimistic person, but I'm not complacent either. My view is that consumers are interested in value for money. Price is a big part of value for money, but they are more sophisticated than that and want something that's high quality too."
Founded in 1996, Charlie Bigham's specialises in creating gourmet ready meals and prides itself on putting "love and attention" into each dish as someone would do if they were making it themselves at home.
Charlie Bigham's splits its dishes into three different categories: pan fry, oven cook and pies. Each type has a range of wholesome dishes that people can cook both quickly and easily when they come home from work.
The company's increased investment will see it record its first ever television advert as part of its marketing campaign. It is also set to release a new line of products in October.
